If it ain’t rainin’

There’s an old saying that goes “if it ain’t rainin’, then we ain’t trainin'” If that is the case then cadets in the Saline County Composite Squadron (MO-117) were certainly training when they held a friendly drill competition in a light late April shower.

DSCF1519First, following the commands of Col. David Van Horn, the cadets went through a series movements — being eliminated if they failed to properly execute.

First Sgt. Jessica Evans then took command of the exercise, trying to trip up her fellow cadets.

DSCF1524In the end, four cadets remained: Nathan Medrano, Trenton Cott, Harley Collette and Steven Clardy.

“I don’t think we’re going to get them. They’re too good,” Van Horn said, calling an end to the event. “Let’s go inside and get warmed up.”
