Saline County Civil Air Patrol

MO-117 — Missouri Wing

Onward and upward

As cadets in the Saline County Composite Squadron continue their aerospace education, Maj. Marsha Williams has been taking stock of what materials the Marshall-based unit has on hand.

944562_588394042540_993005485_nTo help in this endeavor, she enlisted the help of cadet Trenton Cott, who sorted through a collection of odds and ends to assemble several rockets and a functioning launch pad.

At a recent squadron meeting, Cott and Williams showed off their findings, giving a description of each and explanation of how they work.

Aerospace training is one of Civil Air Patrol’s core missions. As part of their participation in CAP, cadets must complete units of aerospace education to progress through the program’s achievement levels.

Now that they have located the rockets and launch pad, squadron aerospace educations will focus on finding a suitable location for a flight demonstration.
